Text messages and push notifications
If you (or your health care provider or health plan) have chosen to provide the App with information about your doctor’s appointments, medications, prescription refills, and other matters related to your care, you may receive push notifications (such as text messages) reminding you of these events or asking you to open your App for details about these events. We may also notify you of important information and events that may affect your health or care, such as a natural emergency disaster in your area. You may receive these notifications through your device’s SMS (other text messaging application) and notification features. These communications may not be secure (not encrypted). There are risks associated with unsecure communications that you should consider. These risks include (without limitation) that an unauthorized person may get access to and read these communications. By using the App you are agreeing to accept these risks and consent to receive unsecure communications.
If you wish to opt-out from receiving push notifications, you may turn them off in your device’s settings. You may also opt-out by replying “STOP” in response to a text message. This opt-out process does not apply to live phone calls or emails, which may continue in case we need to reach you.

Information collected, used, shared and stored for retired services (like PyxPals and health care zone notifications)
You may be using (or have used) a version of the App that supported health care zone notifications and the Pyx Pal service.
The Pyx Pal service is a consumer-directed in-App function that allows a user to give App access to adult family members and friends involved in the user’s care. Individuals who accept invitations to be a Pyx Pal may download the App, chat (text message) on the App with the person in whose care they are involved, and receive notifications about that person. Pyx Health, your health plan, your health care providers, and other members of your care team do not (and did not) monitor or view these chats.
A health care zone notification is a notification from the App to your health plan, health care provider and/or Pyx Pal when you are near to or enter certain places, like a hospital, crisis response clinic, or urgent care center (a “health care zone”). The techie name for this is geofencing—a type of location-based service. Geofencing is not the same as geotracking. You CANnot rely on the App as a geotracking service. Geofencing can be turned off through a device’s operating system at any time.
Effective 05/03/2021, we are retiring the Pyx Pal service and health care zone notifications. However, we may continue to support the Pyx Pal service and health care zone notifications after this effective date for Patients of health plans and health care providers who want to continue to offer these services to their Patients for a limited time under their agreements with Pyx Health. We collectively refer to the last date we will support these services for you as the “Retirement Date.”
If you have any questions or concerns about the information collected, used, shared, and stored for these retired services, please contact us at email@example.com.
